Grey paper covers, string bound spine, with red printed title label to the front cover. Covers with several small and light stains, with worn and unevenly sunned edges. Some yellowing and foxing throughout, with a corner fold and light wear along top edge of last plate, otherwise a relatively good and clean copy. Scarce. Part 1 of 2 only. The 3rd Carpathian Rifle Division was an infantry division of the Polish Armed Forces that fought on the Italian Front during World War Two. It was formed in 1942 and disbanded after the war. Notable actions in Italy include the victories in the Battle of Monte Cassino, Ancona and Bologna. Monte Cassino one of three campaigns shown here in photographs, Sangro being the other.
