Full contemporary tree calf, gilt-tooled spine, double spine labels in black leather. Mixed set though bindings uniform. Volume II contains armorial bookplate of Thomas Tyndall, Junr, Esqr., has marbled endpapers, and has been expertly rebacked and sympathetically tooled; volumes IV & V contain armorial bookplate of Lesley Alexander; all volumes rehinged at one time, with new lower board and rear pastedown to volume III. Some offsetting to text, occasional spotting or mild foxing, with occasional soiling to the text, mild foxing to endpapers. Covers rubbed and scuffed, otherwise a very good, tight set. " ...
