Pp. [xx], 426, [29 - index], a variant edition with 2 final pages of adverts (final verso blank). Contemporary binding, bound Cambridge style in full calf. Small, neat ink signature of previous owner, Alex'r Stuart dated 1712 running along the head of the front pastedown and the foot of the rear pastedown. Old, rather large purple stamp "BOND." to front free endpaper, endpapers and title-page browned, others bright and crisp. Tiny, unobtrusive bit of worming to lower margin white space, contemporary ink note in margin of p.189 only, otherwise interior very good, very clean. Book falls open at verso of title-page and A2 where hinge paper is split. Covers slightly scuffed and rubbed. Overall a very good copy. The first word in the title is transliterated from the Greek. First published in 1702 with the title: "Ancient Psycholousia Revived."
