Edmond & Spark, Aberdeen with their little ticket on lower edge of front pastedown. Pp. xiv, [1]-625. Illustrated with 40 engravings in total (includes frontispiece, and engraved title-page). First edition, first state with all points. Browning to plates primarily around margins, with heavier browning on the frontispiece and engraved title-page and offsetting, previous owner's signature and date of 1872 to front blank, else text pages clean and bright.
