Each volume with 1 or 2 engraved plates or Ancient Earldoms and 2 to 3 tissue guarded engraved portraits. Bound in publisher's purple cloth with gilt lettered spines and gilt stamped front boards. Designed borders stamped in blind. Bookplate in each volume, paper over front hinge of volume 1 has started but volume is tight and square. Spines faded, cloth is clean, with light wear just to a few volumes. Lots of in-text illustrations. Complete in the nine parts and with all plates. Light foxing. Overall a very clean set in tight bindings. Price includes postage for this heavy set.
