Illustrated with 40 engravings in total (includes frontispiece, and engraved title-page). First edition, first state with all points. Lacks half-title, browning/foxing to plates primarily around margins, with heavier browning/foxing on the frontispiece and engraved title-page, else text pages clean and bright. Covers rubbed, corners a little scuffed, head of spine unobtrusively chipped, covers expertly and invisibly reattached. Overall, a very good copy.
