Ottawa: Graphic Publishers Limited (Carillon Book Club Edition), 1927. Numbered Edition. Hardcover. Octavo. Very Good / No Jacket. Item #38583
Carillon was associated with Graphic Publishers and was probably started by Graphic founder, Henry C. Miller. This was the first book chosen for the Carillon Book Club of Canada, taken from the first print run of 6,000 copies. This is numbered 713. The only difference from the first edition is the binding of ribbed blue cloth with a centre illustration in black of a cathedral, the endpapers are in blue and white, patterned with small concentric circles within a square. In the centre within a rectangle on the pastedown, is a cathedral, while the rectangle on the free endpaper contains the limitation. Covers slightly soiled and scuffed, spine a bit faded, else a very good, scarce edition.
