29 cm x 23 cm, with wide margins; pp. xx, 417, [iii]. Illustrated with 42 copper-plates (comprised of 4 maps, 9 plans or charts, and 29 views), all but one are folding. Also included, but not called for, is the large folding map, "A Chart, Shewing The Track of the Centurion round the World" used as the frontispiece, engravers include R.W. Seale, J.S. Muller, and J. Mason. One tear to map at Plate XIII, armorial bookplate to front pastedown, etched by Henry Hays, Regent Street in 1830 for John Rushout, 2nd Baron Northwick (1770-1859), a great collector of art and other collectible items. occasional minor offsetting, else interior clean, crisp and bright. Original speckled calf, all edges stained red. Sympathetically rebacked, gilt embellished compartments, gilt-stamped red morocco spine label, covers worn and slightly soiled, else very good, square tight copy. A handsome, clean, collectible edition.
