Four (4) volumes in full brown calf with gilt lettered red leather tittle labels. Green ribbon markers. Engraved frontispiece portrait in vol. 1. Covers rubbed with splits to joints though still tight, corners rubbed, chipping at head of volumes 2, 3, and 4, covers scuffed, some stains to calf. Free endpaper of vols. 1 & 2 splitting from hinge with some chipping (though still secure). Generally clean text. Armorial bookplate of Sir Edward Synge, Bar't in vols. 2, 3 & 4, it appears to have been removed from vol. 1 with light abrasion to the pastedown. The ink signature of Edward Synge is on the title-page of each volume, otherwise a nice set. Where the Temple Bar area of Dublin, Ireland got its name.
