15x20cm. Not paginated, [18pp.] Illustrated wraps with stitched spine, stitching renewed. Corner of rear cover and hinges repaired with archival document tape. Chip to top edge of front cover near the spine and large but faint stain throughout. Illustrated cover shows a poodle and the title, along with author's name and illustrator, with the publication information and date on the lower edge. This is the 6th edition of this rare Russian children's book. With illustrations in colour by Soviet painter and graphic artist Vladimir Lebedev who illustrated a number of books for Samuil Marshak.
