8vo. 640pp., with last page mis-numbered. More recent reback in smooth black calf over the original leather boards. Thick gilt titles right on the spine, slightly off and imperfect, spine faded at the top. Edges a little scuffed and the contents with very little spotting, overall a clean and tight copy. With 40 illustrations, mostly in colour. This copy lacking 4 plates listed, with 4 plates added (not listed). The missing plates include; Indian Settlement, The Eagle, The Bison, The Grizzly Bear. The plates present and not in the list of illustrations include coloured portraits of Chiefs; Black Hawk, Iroquois Chief, Chief of the Delawares, Mandan Chief.
