Vol. 1: pp. [viii], 104 richly illustrated pages, followed by 56 tissue-guarded gravures with a corresponding text-page opposite; Vol. 2: pp. [vi], 114 richly illustrated pages, followed by 56 tissue-guarded gravures with corresponding illustrated text-page opposite. Bound in a green coarsely woven fabric like homespun wool, 5 raised bands, leather spine label from original binding, all edges marbled. Armorial bookplate of Canadian literary giant, Robertson Davies to inside front cover. Vol. 1 still has the scraps of paper with Davies' handwriting bookmarking a few spots such as "Irving as Shylock". Spines sunned, volume 1 with light stain throughout to the fore-edge margins, otherwise a clean and tight set.
