Oblong folio. Pp. 12, 20 full page plates. Text set in double columns. Original maroon cloth boards with gilt design and lettering to the front board. All edges gilt. Light wear to board edges, recently re-backed spine. Title page a little toned, light foxing to the plates, with plates 19 & 20 being the most foxed, and with a light stain to the lower margins of those plates. First edition thus. Illustrations by J. Noel Paton.
