4to. xiii, 379p. Original teal cloth, gilt stamped front cover and spine, top edge gilt. The gilt slightly rubbed on the circular medallion fairy illustration to the front board, the spine ends a little bumped and rubbed and the boards just slightly bowed. The half-title and blanks a little foxed, with light foxing to the text block edges, otherwise clean and bright throughout in a tight and strong binding. Complete with 32 full colour illustrations by Warwick Goble, all with guards present. Nice copy. First edition with the Goble illustrations.
