Oblong 8vo (180 x 235mm). [c1930]. 8pp. Beautiful pictorial brocade covers, hand-bound. Contains 8 paper cut-outs, including the title page. Tales are separated by glassine protectors that also show the stories. Slip at front explaining the process of making the cut-outs, bottom corner rough and 2 small tears. Each one paragraph English tale is titled in both Chinese and English. The stories appear to be ordered differently in each copy. This one contains (i) Lao Lai Dzi, the Tactful, (ii) Mong Dzung - Bamboo Sprouts, (iii) Shun Dih, (iv) Djang Si, (v) Wong Poh, (vi) Wu Meng, (vii) Wong Siang. After the Communist Revolution, Chefoo was renamed Yantai.
