First edition. 12mo (160 x 110mm). 262pp. Ruddy cloth, gilt and black, rubbed bottom edges, scuffed front joint and bumped head. All edges gilt. Two title pages, the first with a tissue guard and ink name to the top edge, the second, "Curious Records: being a Collection of Beautiful and Interesting Epitaphs, with Remarks on Obsequies." Two remnants of epitaphs glued to the front endpapers, endpapers split. Verso of front endpaper and half-title covered in handwritten epitaphs, former owner's name on the title page and foxing. More handwritten epitaphs at the rear of the book, and another glued-in epitaph to the rear pastedown.
