Clean throughout and the binding tight and square. Illustrated by 145 drawings in the text; also by sixty-one coloured illustrations from paintings prepared for this work by Arthur W. Head. Inscribed by the author on the front endpaper, "To Dr. William Crawford/ with the compliments/ of the Author." From the library of Harry G. Lumsfeld, biologist and research scientist with Ontario's Ministry of Natural Resources. In 2004 Harry Lumsfeld became a Member of the Order of Canada for his outstanding contribution to wildlife management and conservation.
