[Altona, 1784]. Small 4to. Engraved title-page. Pp. 84, 4 leaves of engravings (maps & Ills.) By Rolfsen, after Steenersen. Contemporary [?] calf, very heavily rubbed and worn, paper over hinge split, but still holding well and the text block is tight. Circular purple stamp to the engraved title, with a label removed from the lower fore-edge corner of the marbled front endpaper, a few small marginal stains to a few leaves, a few words on p. 40 underlined in brown pencil, but overall a clean copy. Georg Bruyn was mayor of Schleswig from 1760 to 1808. This book was issued as a advertising booklet for trade on the Eider Canal, which was dug between 1777 and 1784.
