Dublin: Printed for R. Owen, S. Hyde, G. Risk, J. Leathley, G. and A. Ewing, W. Smith, J. Smith, P. Crampton, G. Faulkner, A. Bradley, T. Moore, E. Exshaw, C. Wynne, C. Connor, O. Nelson, P. Wilson, W. Powell, J. Kelly, T. Butler, and W. Brien, Booksellers, 1745. Leather. Good. Item #46073

20 volumes. 8vo. Eighteenth-century full tan calf with raised bands outlined in gilt and gilt stamped spine label in red leather. Engraved bookplate of Jonathan Lovett Esq. to the many volumes, some with the bookplate removed. The spines are heavily rubbed and worn, lightly cracking to the leather and edge-wear all around, but still quite good, all boards firmly attached and clean, some with light water stains but not terrible, just surface stuff, the last volume (Index) with darkened and heavily worn corner, but all volumes are clean throughout with the exception of some faint or unobtrusive stains and some stains from bookplate removal to those volumes, the plates and maps are intact and in excellent condition, some mis-folded so sticking out a touch beyond the text block. A wonderful history, illustrated by dozens of great folding maps and engravings of ancient and holy sites, Sphinx, Pyramids, Camp of the Israelites, Plan of the City of Jerusalem, Solomon's Temple, etc. A few slight errors in pagination, gathering N misplaced, but present. Externally worn looking set, but actually quite nice and solid, uncommon complete in 20 volumes, and in full early calf.

Price (CAD): $3,000.00
