First British Edition. 8vo. Maroon cloth boards with dulled gold spine lettering. Some crimping to pages 158-165 from a printing error, resulting in some irregularities in the printing quality, with some type not visible or darker or lighter. The fore-edges of the text block foxed, but rather fresh otherwise. The dust jacket is a bit foxed on the verso, with light wear to spine head and three long rips, one across the bottom of the front cover, one flap hinge, and at the spine head, all mended with paper tape to verso.
