Mountaineering and Exploration in the Selkirks: A Record of Pioneer Work Amoung the Canadian Alps, 1908-1912
New York: G.P. Putnam and Son, 1914. First Edition. Hardcover. Signed. Very Good. Item #46626
8vo. Pp. xxvii, 439, [4] pub. ads, 4 folding maps (inc. diagram), 2 in colour. Publisher's blue cloth with small illustration to the front board and lettering in gilt. Top edge gilt. All illustrations present but for the plate supposed to be facing p. 343. Compared this copy to several others and discovered they too were lacking this plate. The cloth at the spine ends with light wear, with fraying starting at the head, but otherwise a clean copy in a tight and square binding. Inscribed by the author on front end paper, "To Leroy Glover Holman with the hope that he may follow the trail of his father into the far corners of the wilderness and lift up his eyes to the mountains. Sincerely, etc., Howard Palmer."
