Tall 8vo. Pp. ix, 240, 4 plates, 1 folding map. Original green cloth with decorated borders in blind, gilt stamped spine lettering. Boards scuffed and darkened, small ink splash to front board, the cloth with a few short splits along the spine, and wear to spine head and foot. Endpapers a little darkened and paper over the hinges split. Foxing to the title-page and following few pages, as well as the index. The map is present but is poorly folded and torn at the upper left quadrant but without any loss, repairable. This copy inscribed by the author to his sister, on the title-page.
