8vo. 200 pp., 16 page publisher's catalogue. Original decorated paper boards decorated and lettered in gold, green and blue to both sides, all edge gilt and patterned endpapers. Illustrated with wood engravings throughout by Richard Doyle. Book design by Owen Jones. Surface of boards lightly scuffed, edges worn and rubbed, the joints chipped and worn, with wear to the spine ends, hinges not cracked and the binding strong and square. Light foxing throughout but overall quite clean. Bookplate of Charles Cobb Walker, whose books were donated to The New England Conservatory of Music, with the circular embossed stamp to the lower fore-edge corner of the title-page. A nicely preserved copy of a fragile book, in the original binding and without restoration.
