Red, blue, green, brown, and dark green cloth boards, gilt lettered front boards and spines, with oval mounted colour illustration to each board and outlined in a black stamped border. Each volume containing about thirty illustrations by Charles Green, with The Cricket on the Hearth containing twenty-two illustrations by L. Rossi, each volume introduced by Clement Shorter. Title-pages of 2-4 foxed, very clean throughout, with some nicking and rubbing to the cloth. Overall a very good set, housed in a green cloth slipcase.
