In the original gilt stamped green cloth, with blind-stamped borders to the boards, gilt devices to front and back. Bookplate of Thomas Sanderson to each paste-down, ink note to front endpaper of v. 1. Volume 1 expertly repaired, rebacked with the head of the spine expertly restored to match the original, with some faint tape marks visible on the boards. Volume 2 without restoration, corners bumped and rubbed, spine a little dulled, hinges strong. Volume 3 without restoration as well, corners bumped and rubbed especially at the bottom corners, one with a hard bump, spine ends lightly bumped and the spine a touch dulled, paper over the hinges split but still holding but the text block slightly slipped but still tight and holding nicely. Each volume clean throughout, the contents fresh and appear unread. The first Lane edition, illustrated with hundreds of engravings on wood, from original designs by William Harvey.
