First American edition. Small 4to. Pp. xvi, 343, illustrations, 2 folding maps at end. In the attractive publisher's illustrated cloth boards. A couple of little dirty spots to the cloth, light rubbing and bumping to the corners and spine ends, spine with a few scuffs and a small pion hole in the cloth at one joint, ink name to the front endpaper. Frontis portrait with a small and faint stain to the upper edge. Top edge gilt, other edges untrimmed, book clean throughout and the binding tight and square. Nice copy.
