With over 100 photographs and textual line drawings illustrating the two parts of the book, (1) Lawrence's Diary of his 1911 travels through Syria in search of Crusader castles, and (2) the full text of the suppressed introduction to Seven Pillars of Wisdom and other unpublished material on the Arab Revolt. Publisher's brown buckram, gilt lettering to spine. Spine ends lightly bumped, with fade to the foot, bump to bottom edge of upper cover, with hard bump to the top fore-edge corners, with bump visible to the text-block at that corner. Clean throughout and the binding tight and square. Dust jacket spine darkened, chipped at the spine foot, with bumping wear at spine head and corners.
