25 volumes. Complete. Large-Paper edition of the works of George Eliot. Edition limited to 750 copies, this is no. 90. Original half maroon morocco over marbled boards, decorated spine compartments and bands, top edges gilt, marbled endpapers. The spines sunned, with light scuffing to the leather spine head of vols. 1, 4, 10, 17, with light chipping to the spine head of volume 18, no other chipping or loss to other volumes, a few very lightly bumped corners, some silk page markers detached, with a few light scratches to some sides, but on the whole an excellent set. With photographs by C. E. Walmsley and illustrations by numerous artists and signed in pencil by some. Frontispiece illustrations in 2 states (Japan paper and Holland paper) and those signed are done so the Japan paper. Signed in volume 1 by photographer C. E. Walmsley. Vol. 8 signed by Ambrose Dudley. Vol. 10 signed by Archibald Standish Hartrick. Vol. 12 signed by Charles E. Brock. Vol. 16 signed by Frederick Pegram.
