[1973-1976]. 34 volumes of the Works and 4 volumes of The Collected Essays. All edges gilt; bound in full vellum with gilt spine lettering and a gilt armorial device to the front board of each volume, and to each slipcase. Includes illustrations and folding maps throughout. The vellum is very clean, with some volumes more toned than others, as usual with this set. The slipcases are all about fine, without wear or peeling as is sometimes the case. Subscriber's bookplate in each. Although the projected limitation of this collection was set at 3,000, only 1,750 sets were printed. A fine set, probably the nicest of several sets I've had in the last 5 years.
