Internally clean throughout, with tight, square bindings. A few pages opened at the end, but otherwise largely uncut and unopened. Dust jackets present. Jackets are generally clean and bright, though both show minor chipping to corners, some edge tears, and scuffing to the spines. The original price of 7s.6d. covered with a revised price of 3s.6d. Issued as part of The Novels and Stories of Henry James (New and Complete Edition), which appeared in two formats: the standard 8vo in jacket, and the smaller Pocket Edition. Complete sets are scarce; individual volumes in jacket are quite uncommon.
