Light soiling and a few small rips along one edge but otherwise in very good condition. Bird's eye view of a French Abbey, showing figures and horses on a field, a lake/river towards the top of the map, and the grounds of the monastery. Above the body of water, more fields with figures and horses shown. Decorative illustrations in bottom corners, with cherub-like figures holding coats of arms. Latin script is found on these decorative pieces, as well as at the bottom of the map. Description of the monastery on verso. From a book by Joan Blaeu (1596-1673), a Dutch cartographer, who became the official cartographer of the Dutch East India Company.
