One fold running vertically down centre of sheet. Very light browning along edges. Light tearing around edges. Scuff marks on reverse. Print shows three different illustrations representing sacrifices. Bernard de Montfaucon (1655-1741) was a French monk and scholar, known for being the founder of palaeography and one of the founders of modern archaeology. One of his most famous works, L'antiquité expliquée et representée en figures, of which this print is taken from, was a 15-volume work containing copper engravings of classical antiquities. de Montfaucon was also the confessor for a young King Louis XV.
